Lectures have begun within the Jean Monnet Chair on EU Internal Market law at the Faculty of Law, established through the CLEUIM project (Jean Monnet Chair in Law of the EU Internal Market), led by Professor Vladimir Savković.
The lectures began with the course on Law on securities and securities markets subject, which is part of the curriculum that will be studied over the next three years (2023-2026) at the CLEUIM department. The department is established in the Business Law department of the two-year master's studies, where the curriculum of the project is implemented.
The first year of the project includes teaching on the subject of EU Internal Market Law, as well as orientation classes for students preparing for the selection and development of their master's theses. The orientation classes will assist them in choosing a topic, directing their research field, and mastering the use of digital tools for comprehensive scientific research. Professor Vladimir Savković, as the head of the department and lead lecturer, conducts classes for these three subjects.
Students will also have the opportunity to attend classes on EU Competition Law, taught by Professor Dražen Cerović and teaching associate Nikolina Tomović (LLM).
Second-year master's students will study subjects related to the interaction of provisions of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, ensuring the four freedoms of the internal market with the right to environmental protection in the EU, the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, as well as rules for consumer protection in the field of the internal market. Full time professors of the Faculty of Law engaged as lecturers in the department, namely Professor Aneta Spaić, Professor Maja Kostić Mandić, and Assistant Professor Nikola Dožić, will deliver these teaching units.
The curriculum of CLEUM is integrated into the master's program in business law at the Faculty of Law, University of Montenegro, ensuring a systematic acquisition of knowledge in the field of EU Internal Market law and its numerous aspects. This prepares young legal professionals for the upcoming requirements of Montenegro's full EU membership, fostering the development of academic thought and research in this field.
The project is supported under the Jean Monnet Program, under the auspices of the Erasmus+ Executive Agency for Education, Audiovisual and Culture (EACEA), and will last for three years.
